Swimming

The university Pool is one of the most important facilities with dimensions of 23-meter in length and 12.5-meter in width and deeply graded from 1.60-meter to 4-meter.
The pool is designed according to the latest technology for water purification and chemically processed in an automated way according to the international swimming federation’s Security and safety standards.
The facility has changing rooms for more than 10-swimmers. The sports activities management prepares and organizes the university swimming competitions among students, faculty and staff in the pool according to a predefined schedule. Also, there is a swimming course for beginners supervised by highly qualified trainers.

Swimming Pool Rules and Regulations

The following rules and regulations have been established for the safety, benefit and enjoyment of all users of the swimming facilities. Users are requested to observe these rules and to obey the instructions of the staff on duty.

General Rules

  1. For safety purposes, no one will be allowed in the swimming area unless a PMU employee is on duty and the pool is officially open (as per the schedule announced by Campus Life).
  2. All swimmers must register before and after swimming.
  3. The Sports Center will not be liable for any accidents, injuries and/or loss of belongings: users are requested to keep personal belongings with them -or in a safe place- at all times.
  4. The use of cameras, video cameras and/or any device containing camera equipment of any kind is strictly prohibited at all times.
  5. ONLY specialized, trained staff is authorized to give swimming lessons.
  6. The pool may be closed and cleared periodically for a safety check or to apply/adjust chemicals to ensure proper sanitation.
  7. Food may not be consumed in the swimming pool and/or its surrounding area.

Swimming Rules

  1. For hygiene purposes, all swimmers are required to shower before entering the water.
  2. Students must inform staff members of any diseases and/or injuries.
  3. Students with the following conditions will be prohibited from entering the pool:
    1. Skin disease, sore or inflamed eyes
    2. A cold, nasal or ear discharge
    3. Digestive tract diseases, including: vomiting, dizziness and/or diarrhea
    4. An open (unhealed) wound of any kind
  4. All swimmers within the pool area must be dressed in swimming apparel and hair caps:
    1. Clothing such as mini-shorts and underwear are not permitted as swimwear.
    2. Swimwear should not have been worn for exercising immediately before pool use.
    3. All clothing must be made of lightweight material designed for in-water use.
  5. The lifeguard (staff on duty) reserves the right to administer a swimming capability test to any student at any time he/she deems necessary.
  6. The lifeguard may prohibit any improper conduct and/or activity they deem hazardous at any time i.e. running, pushing, wrestling, splashing, yelling, diving, jumping or any other form of rough play.
